Ilya checks the status of all the GoLK-ists and separates the dead from the unconscious. Do any of them need to be stabilized?

While he’s at it, Ilya also removes any weapons, component pouches, holy symbols, magic items (using detect magic), and valuables from each of them. Those go in a pile far away from the GoLK-ists.

well, we'll start out here.  Everyone gets 3500xp for the end of the Cleric of The God of Lost Knowledge...


The Major Key was the Portfolio he carried.  It was enchanted with an anti magic field,
The Portfolio carried a contract, sealed and true between three powers...


Highlander, Gruwease, and TGOLK.


The clerics of the three would supply devices of leadership, given to each of the cities leaders.    Gruwease for wisdom and order, Highlander for Intelligence and Problem Solving, and TGOLK to protect the empire by making this information a secret and clouding past knowledge which can lead to unrest in the population.


Deducing things, your able to deduce that the crown of leadership you took from the Grand Archivist which one such device.  Built by Highlander clerics, it seemed to posses some artificial intelligence clicker to assist the wearer.  Then heavily enchanted by Gruwease, making a near perfect device.   However after Highlanders defeat.. the AI stopped working and the device became a instrument of only Gruwease, which he was happy with.. eventually the knowledge of this devices fades . until your discovery.

The question I have.. Do you make this public knowledge?

I would suggest bringing it to the attention of the admiral (that's who is giving us information and safe haven right?)

Ding, 8th level.  Just as Robert got to his prestige class right before the end, Raz only needs one more level to accomplish the same feat, in even more spectacular fashion...

Alrighty
  Armed with the new knowledge the Admiral decided to collect the devices.  Once a nice balance of three deities is now clouded and unbalanced as one of the gods was destroyed.  The military collects the first couple easily, but the cleric of Gruweas resists, and there is some disagreement between the church and the state.  The group of you help track down the devices, and are involved in many operations.  You notice agents of the Secret Keepers involving themselves in the fight, and some of the knowledge quickly fading.  Many operations take place.


However.. all that is pushed to the side when the treaty with Iott is signed, significant news in the entirety of the republic.  Iott quickly establishes a embassy, and offers citizenship and the highest possible arcane education to all the significant ( and some not so significant) spell casters in the city if they are willing to serve in exchange.  The acceptance rate is high.  The check points at the bridges in the city become more controlled, as mages from Iott join in.  Lines are longer, but control is greater.  Eveything goes well and the two most powerful spell casting empires combine forces.


One day.. something changes.  The general populace doesn't really know what, but the Elemental Academy in the city has a disaster.  A massive fire elemental destroys most of the campus before it's dismissed.   Several other mysterious magic maladies shake the city.  The steady stream of Iottians out of the embassy stops, and many mages are pressed into service. The number of Iotians thins considerably, most having to leave by ship.
 As the war becomes general news, even mages who didn't accept Iotts initial demands are pressed into service under the terms of the treaty.  Most of the military is placed on active duty, with most ships out to sea.  The tri-forts that protect the city from the high ground seem unusually quiet, as you don't see winged Gree circling anymore.


The flow of news out of the government is minimal.  "The war of magical order has begun against chaotic forces" and mostly.. "Grean mages/ship/Marines help the supreme magical coalition defeat Icefean Fleet/Nomagrok Hoard/ Orcs Savages /Chaotic dissidents"


Over this timespan, in these chaotic times.. you gain 500xp per level.

The grey vests are pressed into service, stretched thin. Tasked with order in the city, as well as protecting things the military used to protect.  General order is at an all time low.  Crime is up, disorder is up


The Admiral is no longer in the city, but his assistant Lena  still takes to meeting with you.


The law firm only takes on a light case load, as Nina is pressed into service very early, before the Academy is destroyed, and doesn't return.

We'll pick up somewhere during the war with iott.  I'm not 100% certain


The secret keepers take a pretty large hit as the contract is known.  SO they fad away, and soon events redirect your attention

Ilya will spend time in the off season performing routinely in taverns and bars around the city. He operates under an alias (I'll need to come up with a good stage name) and in a combination magical/mundane disguise. His performances are a unique blend of heroic storytelling backed by instrumental (balalaika) music to add mood. He uses these events to combat government censorship, warn the public about GolK, and spread truth about the world outside the Republic. And make some coin. Perform check is +15, so I can take 10 to routinely hit the DC 25 for a "memorable performance."

It will have been at least 7 years, since these characters last played in 789 and the event referenced being that snap having taken place in 796.
