For the purpose of keeping city info in one place, I started with thread early.
If anyone has any questions about your upcoming destination, post here.
-
xp will be next week since we ended at fight's beginning.
-
Please make note of all spells / abilities used and active.
It has been 11 minutes since you left the Guardian (1 travel and 10 talking)
-
Jean is unconscious and Sas is outside the temple., with the constable.
Everyone else is inside with the two orcish clerics.
-
Nathan speaks to inquisitor. As a cleric of a god on the council please give me a chance to speak. I would not mind standing before the judges but allow me to do it as a cleric of Lakius and not as a prisoner that you just arrest. I have a solution that will keep this from escalating and still get you what you believe is needed and that is for me to stand before the judges. I have not been judged yet so please allow me the dignity and respect of a cleric of a god who is on the council and in good standing.
I am backing out of the temple as I speak. Unless it is blocked I should be out of the temple quickly because as I said while we were playing that I back away from the inquisitor.

Unless you surrender to be arrested, he neither listens to your words or stops advancing.

It is now the 17th day of the 10th month of 789

Rin turns towards the club guard over the ships mage.
"Why did you assault him? He didn't lift a finger against you or the Inquisitor, and isn't charged with a crime? I thought the Orcish Empire had more logical laws that this" I stand still, none threatening, still appearing to be in standard Horarian sailors clothes.

Bare in mind that will be your action for the round as the Inquisitor moves towards Nathan.
-
Nathan backs us soon as the inquistor started moving towards him and is likely out of the temple unless his exit was barred in anyway. I also get the impression that we didn't step very far into the the temple initially anyway.
-
Taiji informs Amari everything he picked up through the telepathy with Rin. When the connection is cutoff, he activates his bronze griffon figurine, so he’s ready to act when needed.

We will roll initiative for the first round of action, the only person to have gone being the constable in a surprise attack.
-
If it was possible I was out of the temple before we even started because I said as he was talking and moving forward I moved back and I move at 500 so I was out already
-

You wouldn't have been moving out that fast while talking initially, you couldn't hear each other.
If you mean moving during your monologue that he ignores, we will get to that in the session when we roll initiative.
If you want to say you took a five foot step during the initial conversation to step out of the temple, then that's fine, although he steps with you so you are the same distance apart as when you started.
-
If I am out of the temple then I will fly away at full speed. If this works I will let you know what I do.
-
I see we have a misunderstanding since you seem to keep moving after me and won't allow me to speak. So I surrender but I would like to discuss terms of the surrender before we continue.
-
The High Inquisitor stops his advance. "That is wise. Your companions should drop their weapons. Do not start to cast any spells or make any sudden movements. How do you wish to relinquish the crown of air?"
Looking around, you see many gathering in the woods not far from the temple, all armed with staffs. They are not charging but at the ready.
-
How do you wish to relinquish the crown of air?
Oh, hell no.
You mentioned we see others outside the temple with staffs, so is it safe to say the door is still open?
I'm not giving up my weapon, although it's not drawn at the moment. If anyone approaches me, I will act.
-

Its an open air temple, no doors, just pillars.

I want no one on the crew of the garden of the tide to attack. If anyone attacks then there will be a punish and potential banishment from the ship. Please sheath your weapons or put them at your feet and let me work out the terms with the high inquisitor.

Sir Charles drops his bow and sword to the ground, as well as his wands and dagger. "I trust, Inquisitor, on your honor that we will get these back."

"Those not found guilty will not be penalized." He does not put down his sword, a heavy blade curved at the top and with a handle long enough for two hands.
-
The orcish cleric of Lakius' fists are clenched and his eyes so narrow he might not be able to see anything. You hear a snort every time he breathes.
-
Thank you for listening. We are on a noble mission and this our chance to show that and gather even more allies to our side. This mission will not succeed without the support of the council and so we must get the judges of the council to see what we are doing and understand why it is so important.
-
This is a secure spot on the ship for the crown. It will stay there. Now let us discuss terms.

He nods, but waits for the other to comply and drop their weapons.

Ssaskra has no weapons.

He looks to Rin and Chase.

If Nathan insists, Chase will drop Semantics.

Anything happening at the ship?

Not that we will get in to yet.

I pull out my wakazaki, and my bow and place them on the ground " we.. will have a problem if you try to confiscate my bow from me "
-
He motions to the constable that accompanied you to collect all of the weapons. He puts on gloves before doing so and piles them in the temple.
"You will be accompanied to your ship, where you may all remain until this is settled. The dock master will see to your needs. I will do an inspection of the ship and the holding place for the crown."

What are the actual chargers since I stated that I was here to check for demons and then cleanse the temple of they actually exist. Not sure how that is against the law. We also should detail what I said during the time I first spoke to the cleric of the temple.

OOC: I'm getting a real uncomfortable vibe here; similar to when Saruman possessed the king of Rohan.
-
Nathan has a very high sense motive. So I likely realize that the crew is feeling uncomfortable also can I tell if the cleric of Han Sui is who he says he is and is true to what he is saying.
I also ask the cleric of Han Sui the following "My crew is apprehensive about this situation. We have been attacked by creatures from the lower planes in other temples. We are concerned that this whole scene could be an illusion and we want to be sure that we not being tricked by those foul creatures now. Could you allow us to walk to the coast of this island holding our weapons and then have the port master pick us up? This way we we know that we are being arrested by Orcish authorities. You have my word that we will go peaceful and then discuss terms of the surrender aboard our ship. If you are unsure of what I am saying then please cast spells to confirm this".
-

I think it’s just an orcish curmudgeon using the laws of the Empire to defend his “clerics of Lakius should be hermits†dogma against Nathan’s new age “Lakius for the people†movement.
-
This way we we know that we are being arrested by Orcish authorities.
OOC clarification: Who is being charged here? I thought the Inquisitor only called for Nathan’s arrest.
-

To the best of your ability, he is who and what he says he is.
-

"You may not walk with your weapons to the coast. If you wish to pray for some divinations to cast to put your mind at ease, I will allow it. However, I will be next to you and if i see you casting something else, that is the end of any deal."
-
OOC clarification: Who is being charged here? I thought the Inquisitor only called for Nathan’s arrest.
Only Nathan.
-
Only Nathan.
if they are going to take my bow out of sight, I summon it ( it has a gem of calling ) and when that creates a problem, I'll teleport back out to sea.
-

The constable that picks them up does not leave your sight, he does put it in a large sack.
-
I only have one useful divination spell which I could cast. However casting timenis 10 minutes. I do plan to cast it unless someone else has something that will detect more quickly.

Perhaps, but if I find out otherwise, Semantics is going straight through one of his eye sockets while humming a darkly enchanting tune.

You leave Aquaehar on the 22nd day of the 11th month of 789.
-
Experience for the last two sessions:
Nathan - 2100
Rin - 2400
Sas - 2600
Chase - 1800
Grognoth - 1650
Wignston - 1500
Taji - 1000
Veronica - 700
-
Anything you wanted to do in Aquaehar during the five weeks can be posted here.
The time on the ship is some of the most uncomfortable you've ever had and Tsuri'Moti and Amare have a lot on their plate keeping things in order.
The Vass contingent spends more time than anyone else in the city, mostly in Vasstown.
-
The pick is a +3 Gnomish War Pick of Puncturing that does change size for the user. I should note that you have to be proficient in it for it to change size. It is an exotic weapon that for a medium sized creature is 2d6, 19-20, x4.
It does have gnomish artwork on it, although faint. It is made of what Wignston calls stainless steel. It is around 500 years old.
-
Nathan brings our purser and the pick to Northut using transport vis plant. That should take no more than 1 day. Our ship can stay at basically the same place to let us make this trip. Let me know if there are any issues with this.
-
Ssaskra approaches Wignston on the way to Newporton: “You said you are from a Bardic College, yes? Do any there study spirits? This antlered greater spirit we encountered is not one that is known to me. We should share what we have learned.â€
-
DM does Wignston know anyone at the bardic college that studies spirits?
-

You think there may be someone, if fact you are sure of it, but it is likely you never spoke with that person.

Amare has no issue with it. The purser agrees that Northut is the best site to sell it.

How much do you tell the purser, and how much do you let him tell about the pick?
-
How much do you tell the purser, and how much do you let him tell about the pick?
Since it is made out of something that's not around anymore, it might make more sense to sell it in Talp.
-
How much do you tell the purser, and how much do you let him tell about the pick?
I tell the purser everything and he can decide what is important when selling. Rin mentioned selling it in tall. He can sell it where he thinks is best.

He thinks Northut.
After meeting with some people, and spending a day in the city, he reports, "I have an offer of 23,000gc for it."
-
That is at least a +5 weapon. We should be able to get more than that. If we had character trying to buy that weapon then you would likely charge us more saying it was rare. So I am hoping the price isn't undercut because it is rare and there is not a buyer. I will make a character that can use and join the ship haha.
Nathan says that isn't enough we will wait until we have a more reasonable offer.q
-
Braden says, "I will work on it some more. We may have to stay a few days to get the price we want. Negotiations take time."
-
That sounds good we can stay a few days and then meet the ship in newporton.
-

The next offer he gets is 32,000gc. That is after two and a half days.
He mentions, "Caution is required. We are dealing with Amatine gnomes and an artifact they likely consider theirs anyway."
-
Ok we will be careful but what is the max amount for that item that we could. For example if someone is buying it brand new from Tom's magic shop what would it cost?
-

Braden responds, "My guess is in the 30-35,000 ranger. Without going and negotiating a price, it is difficult to say exactly. Gnomish war picks are not common, so you need someone willing and able to forge that."
-
Sounds great. Lets sell this and get back to the ship.
-
He returns with 32,000gc. Divvy it out as you will.
-

How do we split this up?
-
Nathan feels like it is an extra mission that the crew took on while waiting so he does not think it should be split normally. He thinks maybe a small portion to make sure we are paying the crew and then the rest to the away team.

Salaried crew has already been paid in advance, if I recall.
I think the away team consisted of 7: Ssaskra, Taiji, Rin, Chase, Grom, Wignston, and Rolan (Ssaskra’s apprentice). Did I miss anyone?
I suggest we divide the 32,000 gc into 8 shares, because the math is clean - 1 share for each member of the away team plus 1 share for the ship expense fund.
Which means +4,000 gc each.
Agreed?

Agreed, although Grognoth will donate his share to the ship fund, or possibly to a good cause in Undrile to those in need.

Coincidentally, Taiji is starting up a charitable foundation to promote music, art and organic living on the Guardian, and is currently accepting donations.

(OOC) Oh, this ought to be good. I look forward to hearing you try to justify this in person. ;)
Grognoth: I'm intrigued by your noble aspiration. Please, tell me more about your plans on starting this foundation.
-
That works. Wignston is also starting a literacy campaign and schooling for people aboard the ship and would be happy to invest the money. Haha!

I expect a full PowerPoint presentation complete with Tinker gadgets and props to pitch your idea to Grognoth. He'll sit and listen to your long-winded proposal. :)
