There is a lot of talk as you sail to your home port about what is going to happen next. A voyage around the world does not appeal to some crew, and others think that your luck can't keep up forever and one of these times one of the enemies you make will defeat the ship. Few ships that anyone can think of have accumulated the list of dangerous foes you have.
-
Amare is clearly staying.
Braden Lewis-Kormier the purser thinks a trip around the world is fabulous and is staying.
Aaron, you skilled fighter helmsman, is staying.
Parker the Master of the Tops is happy and has no interest in leaving.
Your refugee fey are all staying, as well as Len the fey doctor.
Petric, Rin's acolyte the human cleric is staying.
Berten the Navigator's mate is staying as well.
Rolan, Sas's assistant is staying; as is Egndel Valdis'.
Lister, the bardic doctor's mate is staying as well. He has taken a lot of time with the fey during the travels, learning about healing them.
Philipe the cannon master, bard of cannon knowledge, stays. Knowledge from around the world is too tempting.
-
Jacobi the Boatswain says, "This has been a great ship to serve on, and I thank you greatly, but a world trip is too much for me now. I have made a great coin sailing with you and think I will stay home."
-
Are all the officers staying?
-
Are all the officers staying?
I will work through the entire list as I have time.
-
Much of the officer crew are PCs, so there aren't many others to note.
Jean the ship's mage, assuming you will continue to pay him what you have been, will stay on board.
-
Sir Charles Castilian is the handsome half elven adventurer that asked to join you in Phiam. He has served on ships before and is willing to take any role you need him to fulfill. He is after several days on the ship, it is clear he is a skilled archer, a capable spellcaster, and a entertaining crew mate. Despite his youthful appearance, he says he is in his sixth decade.

Gabriel has decided he would prefer being bought out of his share. Discuss.
-
While not crew officially, the ten acolytes of Lakius are on the ship and will help as long as they are there.
They include: six humans, two Horarians, a Sakor'akai, and an Islander.
-
One Seaman, Simon; and one Gunner's Mate, Lou; decide to not do the voyage around the world.
A human Able Seaman, Arnol, joins Gabriel's crew.
-
Two more human seaman, Farg and Louis, who joined the crew together, also join Gabriel's crew.
-
Three human Gunner's Mates, Samp, Teek, and Ned go with Gabriel as well.
-
Adding your new fey to the crew, you are left with a need for:
5 Gunner's Mates and 3 Able Seamen.
Kassis Esslik, the Vass crew leader suggests some more Vass to fill those roles. "I can easssily find them among the folk."
-
The ten acolytes of Lakius you take on are not crew, but will help for as long as they are on the ship. They are as follows:
Human cleric x3
Horarian cleric x2
Islander cleric x1
Senyohafa ranger/cleric x1
Nipit rogue/cleric x1
Horarian ranger x1
Elven ranger/cleric x1

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you wanted to take the best of the acolytes?
-
Yes because the other 10 can still receive training at the temple.

Gabriel has decided he would prefer being bought out of his share. Discuss.
Thoughts?
-
Thoughts?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought it was mentioned that he only owns about 24K worth. Is that right or am I imagining a conversation that never happened? If that number is accurate, I say we buy him out.
-
In terms of shares I feel our stock went down so I don't that we buy him out at his initial buy in. He already profited very much from being an owner so I feel that we buy him out at less but I am ok with buying him out.

Gabriel purchased the ballista, which was worth ~35k. I will need to confirm with the official books.

I am not too keen on building market adjustments into our net worth worksheet.

It has not been that long in the grand scheme of time and the ballista hasn't taken any damage or lost and effectiveness. So, no depreciation.
-
If he only brought the Ballista then I guess it is fine to pay him for it. That being said we are getting low on money and have a long journey ahead us so I am not completely on board. How much did Gaberial make because he had a share vs what what would he have made if he didn't. It sounds like at minimum he traded a balissta for a whole other ship. Sounds like potentially a good deal maybe Nathan will sell his share for orginigal market value.

Keep in mind that the trade off is his continues to get a percentage of the ship's take forever. It would seem that amount would certainly be more than the buy out now over the life of the ship.

For the sake of simplicity, and because Gabriel is a trusted friend that we’ve been through hell with, let’s just buy the ballista from him, offer our sincere wishes for success on his new endeavor, and be done with it.

Taiji offers to chip in 5k towards the ballista. “If I’m sticking with you guys knowingly sailing into the trouble that’s certainly waiting for us, I feel like I should have some skin in the game.â€

Ssaskra fully supports recruitment of more vass.

I will grant one more day for any objections, and if not he will go find some Vass.
There are also some bards clamoring to join the crew, along with a pleading gnome who claims not to be a bard...

Taiji spends lots of time with this one to see if they might be cousins. Which might prove difficult considering Taiji doesn’t know much about his parents, but he’ll try anyway.

His name is Leho, and he is happy to have another of your kind on the crew. He did know his parents, and came from a stable family where he was trained to protect the community. When Lakius did not aid them in their time of need, he went to seek out the elders of the faith to confront them. He learned that the hermits were not interested in protecting populations and soon after heard of Nathan and the sea tender tradition. "I will return after I have learned."

I am fine with a few more but we do want to make sure we have enough room for human crew which is starting to become a minority

That is fine I am just worried are funds are getting low now.

Chase is good with Vaas and Bards.
Regarding this Gnome, we should interview him and put him through all the usual tests (ability tests, screening for evil, spellcasting capabilities, fighting skills, sailing, etc.). If he's worthy, we can recruit him. Also, he gets extra testing to make sure he's not running from the law. We have enough refugees on this ship and don't need to be harboring criminals, falsely accused or otherwise.
-

Taiji said he'd contribute 5K and Chase offers to pay for the rest in order to increase his ownership share. This will also serve to eliminate the financial burden of our ship's funds, assuming the officers agree to this proposal of course.

It might be a good idea to have some hardy folk onboard. Perhaps some people who can handle themselves in a fight.

Benten, the Navigator's Mate on the Guardian decides to take the navigator's role on Gabriel's ship.
Nathan will pick his new mate.
-
Kassis Esslik presents five Vass for your scrutiny to join the crew. Two are able seamen.
Plissa, a rogue by trade and the first female Vass to be part of the crew. Female Vass are not commonly seen at sea on ship, or by non-Vass. Usually, they just are recolonized as such. Their scales are smoother and more rounded and the are overall smaller in size.
The second is Fessiz, a massive Vass fighter that rivals Thermon is size (but not quite).
-
Three Vass gunner's mates are Uthik, Sis (likely not his real name), and Massisn.
Sis is a small near black scaled Vass. All are fighters of some type.
-
That leaves two gunner's mates and one able seamen to round out the crew.
Does anyone have any requests?

Gabriel’s contribution to the Guardian was 34,500 gc (in ballista form).
Taiji will chip in 5,000 gc of that for 0.6% ownership.
That leaves a cost of 29,500 gc for Chase. Assuming you still want to buy out that amount, your ownership increases to a total of 4.7% (previous contribution was 9,000).

Done and done.
