XP for a session description for Master Po and Hero.
We sailed north until we were able to identify that we were in the territory of the eel folk.  The officers discussed strategy and circled around their waters while coming up with a plan.  We decided to send the High Cleric of Tfop and ask if there is an eel folk Cleric of Lakius we could parlay with for Olyhydra's artifact.  He said he'd get back to us.

While circling around for a couple days, we had Sas go into spirit form and search the area.  He discovered an enormous underwater city full of eel folk and also discovered a spire laden temple to Dresta where the artifact is being kept.  We also found out that Ritvali had been exploring and looting over those couple days.

Some of the crew grew impatient, so we formed a strike team and decided to dive deep and take the artifact for ourselves so we could destroy it.  Festooned with magic and artifacts, we believed we could convince or threaten the eel folk into handing it over.

We were wrong.

Once we buffed ourselves and got about a half mile underwater, we were confronted by hundreds of these creatures.  Nathan boldly declared that we were taking the artifact and that no one would get hurt if they complied.  They responded by sending a water monolith after Nathan and water elementals and dozens of their best warriors after the rest of us.  We fought valiantly, but were served up a heaping helping of humble pie and were forced to withdraw.  Once we got back to the ship, we licked our wounds and started forming a new strategy.  We sailed about 5 miles away from the city to collect our thoughts.

It is now the 24th day of the 7th month of 789.
The 25th day is both Chase and Kasai's birthday.  They'll gladly take cash donations and freebies from Veronica if she's feeling up to the task.  If Claude wants to contribute a birthday "wish", might we suggest something along the lines of wishing Olyhydra's artifact onto the deck of our boat, or perhaps wishing all the evil eel folk into non-existence.

*Valdis was fine, and only begrudgingly left the fight.

If the whole city is turned to Olhyrda then I am not sure that we the means to assault the city and get the Cube.  We either need to find an ally in the city which seems highly unlikely or maybe take a different tactic altogether which would be to reach out to the different port throughout the world and convince them that this is an import to deal.  Then come back here with a large army.

Word reaches the officers through the grape vine that Gned the gunner's mate tinker gnome is offering to create some depth charges to bomb the city, to scare them into surrendering.

So our negotiation tactic was to threaten an entire city with physical violence? Are we sure this isn’t the Tyrogatore campaign?

Was Lucian present?

Ritvali responds, "No one saw him, during the battle or during our recon.  The Olhydra cube was seen."  Sas did some spirit recon as well and that is true of what he saw as well.

Jean says, "I agree.  If it is a normal summons, it can't last more than two minutes.  We could use that to our advantage.  It also normally takes more time than a standard spell to cast."

Our approach is neither stealthy or fast.  They have the advantage of being able to prepare for us.  It's not something easily remedied.  Or.. we could all jump in a bag of holding, and have Ritvali carry us into the spire.

Amare says, "If you are willing to go without the crown of air, that could work.  You would have to get out another way if you are taking the cube back."

Tsuri'Moti, the burly Horarian, who after a time has heard what happened, chimes in, "This is the prefect time Rin to call the great whale and a whale horde.  You can do this, yes?"

I am not going in a bag of holding.  I think there are too many things that can go wrong with that plan.

Now going in with a horde of whales would be great if that truly is an option.

If not we might need to start gathering our own army.  This cause should be a problem for many of the religion for Habololy so hopefully it would be easy to get people to join our cause.

Yes, i can ask the Whales of the Sea to come fight for us, but it's not what I would define as a horde.  Gathering an army is risky, as a huge number of goodly creatures usually attract a huge number of evil ones.

We could ask for the help of the Planetar, and ( insert name of snake creature)

Would Rico be able to help?  He's a dragon wurm after all.  Maybe Claude could call in a favor.

What's the name of the giant bird genie that Nathan found earlier in the campaign?  Could we summon him to help?  That may be what Zunder was referring to, but I'm not sure.  Although, if memory serves, it wasn't very effective underwater.
