Also, Claude gets another 375 for defeating the ooze.
Posting an emailing xp for the last several threads will be given right before next session.

Is there an alchemical (non-magical) option for water-breathing and pressure resistance?
Being dispelled that deep will be a problem.
-
Things to do:
- Investigate the lair
Ssaskra will collect recon via spirit travel.
-
As long as everyone agrees the DM agreed to slightly adjust the timeline so that Nathan and Chase will get there items. Before we arrive at Dark Seas location.
-
It involves having spent five more days in Port Talp.
-
fine with me, I need some magic arrows, and some potions / chemicals.

That's fine with Valdis.
-
With us being five days later, do we find the same scenario when we arrive at Dark Seas lair or is the situation different?
-
During those extended 5 days Valdis talks with Amare, Nathan and the rest of the officers. He has an idea to help with the defense of the ship in the event we are boarded. He purchases ten 20gp semi-precious gems and turns them into Power Stones (he can do one a day, so only 5 will be ready by the time we leave. He can do the rest out at sea). In each gem he will put an Astral Construct that either he or Egndel can activate if needed. He will have the carpenters fashion small recesses in the wall/railing on the main deck of the ship, evenly spaced on both the Port and Starboard sides.

The situation is the same, so you can plan away.

Okay, I think I'll wait until Ssaskra is done collecting recon via spirit travel before setting a plan in motion.
The main thing we'll need to do while we wait is form an away team consisting of those who can travel underwater. The rest will protect the Guardian of the Tide. At least one of those team members will need to be able to get us out in a hurry in case we run into a dispel situation or, Tfop forbid, a dead magic zone.

Ritvali asks, "Correct me if I am wrong, but is my stone useless against this creature?"
-
Jean the new ship mage says, "I can make myself water viable."
-
While many are not keen on going, Nassissik steps forward, "I have sshown my ssskill at raiding water caves of treasure, I ssshould go."
-

between the ship's mage and Claude we should be able to figure that out.
-
Nathan will go.
-

They don't think it will be useful.
-
Okay, so far we have Nathan, Ritvali (possibly), Nassissik, Jean, Rin, and Chase. Not sure about Valdis or Claude.
-
Isyawi, the pirate hating master mariner, says, "Hard pass"
-
Midiyro says, "I go with Claude."

Claude does not really have an option ;p

Well, I just don't want him to drown. As long as he has enough potions to survive the trip, then yes, he has no choice. 😜

Taiji chimes in: "Not to be a killjoy here, but is challenging a creature like this on its home turf a sound strategy? Especially when the turf is so hostile to visitors?"
-
Tsari'Moti says, "Yes."

I'm pretty sure the entire sea is his turf, so I'm not sure it matters. At least here, we know where to find him. From what Claude says, these things are greedy, so he'll likely be back for his loot.

There's a difference between a fight on on the surface and a fight 6 miles under water...perhaps we could try to draw it out to the surface where more than 6 of our crew could contribute.

I never said anything about fighting it under water. Depending on what Sas finds in spirit form, we'll form a a plan based on that info. I just wanted to see what's down there in case we need to go down. More than likely Claude's presence will draw it out to the ship.

Valdis says he skills are better utilized on the surface. He'll stay with the ship.

I was hoping Claude had a way to trigger the beast's senses so that it would recognize a hunter approaches. If that's not an option, I suggest we steal something from its lair and bring it to the ship. If it has any means of detecting its items, it may wish to pursue us. That's why it's important to know who can travel underwater. A third option, albeit far fetched, may be having Claude whip up a pheromone dust that might attract the beast to us. We could spread it around the area and hope for the best.

Thermon asks, "Can we fish for it?"
-
Sorry. This ship is amazing and I have been a bit distracted. I have nothing to help alchemically with the water other than holding your breath for a bit longer.
I have an item or even spells that help me be in the water but I really don't want to engage this creature down there.
As far as enticing it to the surface that seems reasonable to me. Not sure how to do it but seems the safer course. Most of them really don't like it when you take something of theirs. That might be worth a shot.

Rin shakes her head.. " i.. would want nothing to do with fighting a beast that once it gets to the surface, being .. um.. excited in such a manner.. then realizes that his girlfriend is nothing but a crunchy boat filled with people looking to kill it. That is a doom which I'm not sure Treetop could save me from. These are not stupid beasts like the Lob-strosities."
Rin is too scared for the safety of the Traveler of the Seas to summon him to my aid.
I look to buy a quiver full of permanent +3 arrows, and possibly a quiver full of 1 time use +3 as well, Anything anti-dragon that I can find.

Anti dragon are not common and expensive. That said, you can find ten dragon bane arrows, one shot, +1 and 2d6 damage extra to dragons for 3,000gc.
A quiver full (50) of +3 one shot arrows is 18,000. A quiver full of permanent ones is far more expensive. They are 3,000gc each.
-
Rin, what about one of those magnificent bows that Wake has? It fires unlimited force arrows and is relatively inexpensive for someone of your wealth?
