I will use this thread to detail crew members throughout the season as needed and to allow you to ask questions and have a reference.
-
For Boatswain and Boatswain's Mate, you hire a father a son duo from the Port Talp area. Jacobi and Jack are ship crafters and are in their early 40's and 20's respectively. They have been on several cruises and they know ships and their repair as well as you can hope to have aboard the ship. They are human, and professional through and through.
-
Your cannon master is a human in his late thirties that impresses you with his encyclopedia knoweldge of cannon and their maintenance. Gno has heard of this individual by the name of Philipe. His obsession with cannon is not like that of a tinker, but more a historian's love of them. He has been on several voyages before and he is the only one you came across that new all about the cannons Gno selected.
-
Len recommends you bring aboard a human named Lister as the Doctor's Mate. "I met him while at Port and think he would fill the role nicely."
-
Including PCs, the current crew total is 97.

What's our crew capacity?
-
The quartermaster you hire is a veteran sailor named Jonah. He has around 50 years old and now that he has seen the birth of his grandchildren, he wants to go sailing and make some more coin. He is knowledgeable and qualified.
-

Zunder had that somewhere, but I think it is close to 120. But with the ever full sails, and an elite crew, 120 is not necessary.
-
The Carpenter's mate is a fine contrast to Taiji's personality. He is an older human that made a living carving smaller wooden things. He tells the tale of tinkering putting him out of business and how he needs a new profession. While his story is a bit of a sob, his skill is not questionable. He is willing to take the role as a mate because this is a new type of work for him. He has worked with your high end wood, which is a plus. His name is Karl.
-
Your cook is a large burly man that fits the view of what you would see as a cook. His name is Bruno and he brings samples of his stews and fish fries. He has cooked on a number of large merchant vessels. He is originally from Icefia.
-
The cooper you hire is named Kuri'foni, a Horarian man is his youth with a strength at bending wood that is impressive for a man of his rather slender frame. He wins the job when he bends wood for a barrel in an impressive manner and speed.

A normal compliment would be ~100. Historically they didn't have prelates/mages etc. so i believe 120 is right.
With more modern mechanics, you can sail her infinitum with around ~80.
Normal compliment of gunners would be 5 per gun, with the breach loaders on the Guardian you only need 3. You generally use regular crew for the grunt work, and one gunner per. So 2 able seamen, 1 gunner. Only need 27 for that ( only usually fire one side at a time, so 9 active weapons) - 1 Gunner, 1 Powder Monkey/Loader, 1 Gunners Mate
STEPS
- Boom
- Loader Opens the Breach
- Mate cleans the bore with a giant q-tip
- Loader Loads the Weapon, and Locks the breach
- Mate helps Aim the weapon
- Loader goes to the powder room waiting for the guns to fire for next pouch of powder.
- Boom
The breach loaders remove the responsibility of rolling the fun back and forth to aim and load ( usually done from the front of the weapon)
That further reduces the crew
The sails make it even less, as no rigging changes, not much taking.
I figure you can sail her forever with a crew of around 65.... But what fun is that.
