Title: Digging (out of) Your Own Grave
Post by: Asinjin on April 30, 2015, 11:31:50 PM
Start with xp, for a exceptionally humorous night where you all survived many wraiths:

1200xp each

The date when you have breakfast with Gneon after you day of rest is the 15th day of the 4th month.  It is 6 days from then when Gneon thinks he will have all of the settlers recalled.

Activity in the Western or New section of the city ramps up quickly, as the thousands are expected to return in short order.

Anyone that has anything to do in those days, post or ask questions.

A recap for Saron would be good as well.

The Yellowians are available for planning most times.

The movement of so many settlers is sure to draw out at least some undead.  We will coordinate with the Yellowians and set up patrols.  If Master Neon allows it, that flying ship of his can roam further afield and signal back if there are any undead attacks.  That will allow us to focus or split our efforts as necessary.

You learn that the city has patrols to watch already set up and well coordinated.  However, they welcome you as an addition to the patrols, assuming Marston vouches for you.

Who that can see through the illusion volunteers to take a turn on the airship scanning the lands?

So wraiths are powerless in sunlight, but it doesn't otherwise harm them or prevent them from fleeing, correct?

I don't think exposing the interior of the well, even if we could figure out some way to do it, would solve our problem. Wraiths would just retreat into the water or rock.

That is correct.

The idea behind collapsing the cavern is to give us better ground to fight on.  We can't hold the water back long enough so they just wait us out.

Well, there's also a lot of potential in maintaining the geological integrity of the underground river. A water feature like that is what made Grimhold. We should try to keep it intact. Can't harvest the apples in Mefeeti if you already cut down the tree in Smofena.

Since I never described Finn to Saren, here goes:
You see the scruffy, graying-brown haired dire badger stand up on its hind legs as its form begins to melt away and it takes on a more humanoid shape. The transformation ends after a few seconds, and in the badger's place stands a shoeless halfling that begins brushing the dirt off of himself. He is somewhat taller and leaner than a typical halfling. His hair is a graying-brown mass of dreadlocks that come down to the middle of his back, and is pulled away from his face with a green bandana; various feathers, leaves, and wooden beads are tied in to it (think Capt Jack Sparrow). He is dressed in what appears to be a finely crafted and intricately carved suit of wooden full plate armor. The highly polished wood is grainy and dark in color. The breastplate is expertly painted to depict a lone oak tree rising above a field of yellow wheat, and the right shoulder guard is carved and painted to resemble a bright yellow sun. The neck guard resembles a carved laurel wreath; Finn brushes his hand across it and in the blink of an eye, the armor turns into leafy green ivy which begins to retract (reverse grow) back towards the neck guard, until all that is left is a green laurel wreath around his neck. Under the armor, Finn is dressed in simple clothing of shades of brown and green. He's got 2 shoulder bags slung across his chest, a wooden symbol of Habastly tied to his belt, and a plain wooden staff in his hand.

"Hello. My name's Finneas Grignard. You can call me Finn. Pleased to meet you!", he says, extending his dirty hand Saren's way. "Sorry I didn't introduce myself sooner, but I did not want to squander Habastly's blessing."

Saren takes the offered hand.  "Well met Master Finneas,  Would that we had known of your predicament sooner."
