Are we staying in Foresthall?

Parker suggests, politely from the doorway, that some of the diamond dust be gathered (if Stasis permits) and used to purchase the future Queen a ring of mind blank as well.  As we have seen the agents of our enemies are coming out of the woodwork.  Their assassins have made attempts on the lives of many in the past few days alone.  As Parker is talking, and everyone is looking at him, Shank rolls around in the diamond dust, coating himself as much as possible.

Parker waves from the doorway.  "No Thanks, I'm good" (as he zaps himself with a wand)

Nisoru chuckles. "I admire your single mindedness professor. Pity it is not devoted to a more worthwhile pursuit. The dust is part of the spells protecting the temple and I doubt it will remain if taken from the building." Shank, now glittering, gives you a look that clearly conveys "thanks for nothing."

Nisoru then takes off his ring and gives it to Lira. "Now that I have lived long enough to fulfill this duty I no longer need this. Let the servants of evil come and find me if they dare."

Lira says: "Thank you Rubius. I have not had food from a halfling chef in years now. (she looks sad when she sees it come out of the magic bag.). Arion eats non-stop until Lira elbows him in the hip.

Lira says: "Thank you Rubius. I have not had food from a halfling chef in years now. (she looks sad when she sees it come out of the magic bag.). Arion eats non-stop until Lira elbows him in the hip.

Rubius genuflects: "Lady Lira, I would be more than happy to prepare a feast fit for a queen when we get back to a more suitable environment.  As a matter of fact, I have several ancient recipes from the Poed Estate that I think you would absolutely love.  It would be my great honor to cook for everyone once we return; a royal banquet indeed!"

Looking at Arion: "Don't be shy, please...eat some more.  Nothing makes me happier than seeing people enjoy one of life's most wonderful pleasures.  Here, try this, it's one of Asinjin's favorites."  Rubius pours a robust amount of peach nectar into his magical goblet, regulates it to a nice chilled temperature, then hands it to him.

For the second session in a row I've made a small error at the end of the session. In this case, the captured elf is a sorcerer not a wizard. He has a break enchantment scroll not a spell book.

He has three wands, a cloak, two rings, a short sword, a small bag of holding with a composite shortbow, bracers, a quiver of arrows, a saddle and a set of eye glasses. He also has a few hundred coin and three small gems.

He teleported with us to Foresthall, correct?

I ask him "What is your name?"

"What do your items do?"

I cast detect magic and look at the items.  I hand the con and gems to Parker for counting unless any are magical.

"Who do you worship?"
The plan was half accomplished. We told him of his crime and punished him turning him into a dog. We were then going to take the princess back to Yellowia. We have had spies looking for him since the incident. We saw the knight accompany the princess here once before but did not have the men to raid until now.  The king and his cleric of Tommimao ordered his arrest.  In Phiam only the cleric of Tommimao and his guards knew of our mission. I worship Tommimao.

"Ajax, does Stasis have any input into where we should go from here?  Asinjin, we could always turn him into the Tyrogatorian authorities on the way back.  I'm sure they would be interested in what Tommimao has planned against their god.  Hmmm...let me think about it..."

Rubius ponders for a moment, starts to count to himself on all fingers, then looks up at the group.  (To DM: Rubius is invoking his "Eenie, Meenie, Minee, Moe" ability for two questions: "Who should we turn the Sorcerer in to?" and "What is our next course of action?")

He should be turned over to the constables in Phiam, I think, since that is where the others were arrested. This one will probably be sent to the gaol at the Castle, but that is not for us to decide.

As will I.

After that, I think our path forward should focus on uncovering Marius' scheme. I haven't had the chance to tell you this yet, I found out yesterday that those people in the cells in Marius' lair were not killed, they were transported to the Plane of Shadow before the cavern collapsed. So whatever he is intending, Marius needs the prisoners alive.

Worse than that I fear. I just received a message from Lord Oliver. Sir John Toppin is at the Castle. That's not the bad news. All the council members have already arrived, and the Castle has been sealed for the deliberation. It appears we have our work cut out for us.

Ajax says: "I agree. The authorities there or in the capital should take him and the sooner we are rid of him the better. His fellows will be looking for him and we don't need another group of adversaries looking for the future High King and queen. Though I must admit some regret that I did not get to give a group of Tommimao worshipping, Yellowian royal agents, a solid pummeling. "

Likely both. What purpose would controlling the council of succession be unless you also controlled one of the candidates? Seems like we'll have to figure out a way to get Arion into the Castle. Think those tunnels we used in the fut-...uh, I mean in the...um...hmmm...in the future (glancing apologetically to Asinjin) exist now?

If you do not know the answer to your second question I don't know who would.

Nisoru says: "Chaos and civil war would be the result even if they do not control the selected King. If we do not get to reveal Arion's legitimacy to the council and instead must go to the people it will shatter the country.  Tunnels?"

If our enemy controls all of the defenses, or Stasis forbid, they have access to the armory, then we have no hope of prevailing. There are many things here that do not make sense, for one Sir John should have no role in the council. Another, the servants of evil should not be able to set foot in the Palace as it is holy ground, blessed by Stasis and Falan. "

The sorcerer is a half northern elf named Victor Farriorson.  The first wand is a healing wand, the second a magic missile wand and the last lightning bolts. The cloak is a cloak of resistance. One ring is protection, the second a "Lightning Master" ring.  The short sword is a spell storing and shocking burst weapon. (Nisoru tells you it bears the mark of Xares Ad'Alkai, a long dead Sakor'akai Bladelord from Amansky.) The shortbow is speed. The arrows are all magical.  The bracers are defense. The saddle enhances riding ability. The eyes are eyes of the eagle.

The last spell he learned is Waves of Fatigue.

The sword is +3. The bracers are +6, the cloak and ring +3. The bow is +3 and the arrows are a mix of 1 and 2.

Nisoru says "No, many of his swords were commissioned and sold. It would be worth a great deal to the right buyer. If this one, gesturing to the sorcerer, has a blade such as that, I wonder with what Herron is armed."

"I am from the far west of Yellowia. I joined the army as a boy. I wanted to serve in the Emerald Brigade but was passed over for selection. Herron worked for High Mage Deldoran and he recruited me to join him. For eight years I served the crown as an agent.  Herron and I no longer officially serve Lord Deldoran but the crown "hires" us for sensitive missions. Yes with some limitations that don't apply here.  Actually, Sir Batholomew, Arion and Huthrim have first claim to them. Huthrim would like the lightning Master's ring or the eyes of the eagle in that order.  Arion asks for any of the defensive items you don't want for he or Lira.

The Warhammer of Crushing Blows I will only keep until we return it.

The wand of lightning I am taking.

DM listed several items of those NPCs are taking.

Is it sized for a halfing or human?

If human sized I could use a backup weapon when my 2 holy swords aren't a good option.

We ever divvy up the coin from the linnorm?

Ari, you're more than welcome to the short sword.

Parker will check the bracers of Armor +4 for any distinguishing marks or symbols, anything that might lead us to its original owner. Once that is done, Parker will give the ring and cloak from the sorcerer and the bracers to Arion and Leira.  As well as the +2 cloak of protection (again, checking for any distinguishing marks or symbols to determine who it may have belonged to).

Escalon himself.
(missed this the first time around). Nisoru says: "Can anyone, other than Asinjin, cast a sending? We will need to take Arion and Lira to a safe place if we are to seek out the captives. The High Temple is one option but the Vale is likely the safest of all."

Ari will take the sorcerer's arrows and the wand of healing if no one else wants them.

I cannot. My item functions only 1/week, and I used it yesterday to try to contact you.

You think we should take the fight to Marius and recover the prisoners?

Rubius claimed the wand of healing earlier in the thread, but you can have it if you want it.  You're welcome to the arrows (and the short sword as previously mentioned).  The horn is up for grabs.

Rubius whole-heartedly agrees.

"Whoever has the best chance to use unknown magic items in general should probably hold onto the horn, unless there is some other caveat to its use.  As for following Marius into the plane of Shadow, I'll go, but only if I can take the plane of light with me.

"Our enemies are very fond of removing people from Habololy and leaving something here in their place....gems, copies.  More reason that the less interaction with the outer planes the world has the better."
