Title: South of the Border
Post by: Asinjin on April 11, 2012, 01:15:32 AM
Start with xp:

First, I thought Harrick was 8th level already, since he wasn't, he should have gotten 300 more last time. I just realized this now, sorry Zunder.
Now, since he played at 7th this time, I will count that in your favor. So both Harrick and Gnevil get 2000.

Artemus, Marston, and Bandrig each get 1700.

In addition, everyone gets a 2500 rescued Emmerick successfully bonus.

It is now the 9th day of the 12th month of 785. The day you get back into Pacyr.

It took 63 days from leaving Mydir to getting back into Pacyr.

Clement says that the trip will take you two weeks to Mydir. He is willing to teleport you home before then if you don't want to spend the time on the wagon.

So i Ask... "What would you give me to drive the wagon all the way back Icefia? I already came out of this with nothing, compared to what these guys are getting. I don't even need a horse, as I can summon one for 16 hours a day."

"Drive it to Icefia?" Clement looks confused. "It's not going to Icefia."

Clement asks separately, "Did this planetar give you a name?"

Clement also tells you, "Joseph made it back, but it became clear that he had been compromised at some point in the trip. His memory was warped. Not drastically, and he's fine now, but something happened to him during his trip."

Clement says, "I can provide all of your payments before we get to Mydir if you want to leave through teleport."

"The wagon belongs to me, it stays in Mydir."

Clement says about the planetar. "I will cast some spells and look into that name."

These conversations take place during the trip, not all the first night.

Clement what do you know about Eri Blackburn and are you able to tell if he has cursed us in some way?

Clement will get it to you, but first you have to decide if you are traveling all the way to Mydir or going home sooner.

I wanted to stop in medir and rest for a bit before going home. I want to discuss the mission with clement and have him answer some of the question I already asked.

"You do not appear cursed."

"I have met him a dozen times in the past few decades. He has risen through the ranks in Hertoplowis diplomatically. Speaking religiously, he serves the best interest of Falan, whatever he sees that being at any given time. In that, he is much like the high cleric in Dethembrais."

"He is a cleric, but also a psionic, and his talents in both are notable. I think he is much like you, Harrick, in a way."

It is then possible that he might have blessed us because he might see that we are an asset to the faith of Falan?

I'll go to Mydir and help out Clement in any way I can.

"Thank you Marston. However, I think you can best serve the faith back in Grimhold. But a restful few weeks travel and stay in Mydir would suit you well."

"Yes.. but when he referred to prisoner dwarf #44534 he also said he'd be getting his blessing soon. And immediately following we found out that he was to be imprisoned." turning to Clemment.. "I believe a curse is out of the bounds of the original contract, and i deserve equal reward as the others "

I try to engage Clement in a theological discussion and ask him how he feels about the different factions of Falan and the people that have not chosen a side yet.

"That is a sound point, I'll only say that what he says and offers faithful is different from non-faithful."

He is happy to talk about that, "I think that they should get off the fence and pick a side. If everyone on our side joined, we could wipe out the Eternal. But the high cleric is not of that mind, and with him in place, it is very challenging to rise up in force against the Eternal."

Clement pauses, "I'm sorry, I misheard you and thought you were asking different questions. I would guess that the Planetar would have gone to the upper planes."

I remove the 3 claymores from the wagon after the 1st night in Pacyr. Don't want to forget about those.

Since we're already in Pacyr, I'd like to check out Mydir.

You can all assume that you reach Mydir safely (Bandrig in custody).

You can decide how much tie you want to spend there and what you do. We won't venture into a return to Grimhold on the boards, since I don't know when the next season with this group will begin.

Continue discussions on payment, aftermath, etc on the boards for at least a week, after that, I'll be switching my thoughts to the Tyrogatore campaign. That doesn't mean you can't post here, just saying.

Clement says, "For those of you that have contracts to be fulfilled, since you are all returning to Mydir, I will fulfill them when we get there. I am going to teleport Emmerick to the city tomorrow to get him on the road to recovery. If you think you need me, I will travel with you through Pacyr."

"No curse could keep for the ultimate reward of Falan's realm. Unless you were to let it effect how you lived your life under his faith. Anyway, I will do a throughout analysis of you magically to check for curses when we get to Mydir." says Clement.

Emitx is very excited. He takes off the cloak and acting as if he has no worry in the world. "Can't wait to see Mydir, heard good things about it. You guys don't mind if I tag along, do you." says the most helpful NPC ever.

"Come on, sounds good. "

"Great mighty Clement," a happy and loose Emitx begins, "do you think someone of my ilk will have a problem in Mydir?" You notice he is now exclusively wearing the symbol of Falan.

Once it's been removed, I grab the skull mask to study. I want to see both how it works and what would have happened to Emmerick if the trap was sprung. I buy the first melon I can find to test it on.

Clement looks strangely when you ask for it, since it had actually disappeared.

"Hmmm....sorry. I will get it back for you. Tomorrow."

The next day, he magics it back.

A series of twelve spikes would have driven into his head. You find inside a mark, the wheel of eight swords with the SE and SW swords curved and the S, SW, an SE swords thicker.
Title: Re: South of the Border
Post by: Hero on April 16, 2012, 10:57:45 PM
I thought it just fell off.

I make note of the mark. SE/SW blades curve out (like tusks) or in (like fangs)? Know(religion) check to recognize it = d20+13=24. If I fail to recognize it I check with the rest of the group, including Clement.

I also try to develop design drawings for the mask. Never know when they might come in handy. Know(mechanics)? d20+19=32.

You succeed in the design, as it is only a lesser clicker.

Curve out. You do recognize it, as you have seen it before on a clicker or two in Grimhold, held at the temple of Falan.

Who does the mark belong to?
Title: Re: South of the Border
Post by: Asinjin on April 18, 2012, 10:48:38 PM
You don't know his (and you are only assuming its a he) name. You saw the mark, as you have seen a hundred other tinker marks on the plateau. Most you don't bother to get a name for, unless the clicker is something noteworthy.

And before you ask, Clement doesn't know either.
