Discussion on where you are keeping the scroll case.

Also, bonus xp for whoever gives a description of what happened to the twins.

After much discussion and flip flopping we decided to go after the GneverEver tinker shop.    We knew the approximate location of the item, we just needed him out of the place. Because he was just a home body and didn't have a very regular schedule we told Esme to alter self into a Ice Gnome and "distract" him by getting him upstairs.  She had a hard time doing it, but eventually they go upstairs to see some of his less finished devices.
We pick the back door and we are in.  Remy and Istivan are running watch outside, while some of the more sneaky sort are inside.  We don't find anything in the first room, which appears to be some sort of kitchen/store room.  We open the door and go down to the basement.  While down there Esme looses interest in her mark and he starts downstairs. IN an "oh shit" molment, istivan, on the next roof over, throws a loose roof tile through the upstairs window to call Gnever back upstairs to investigate.
Meanwhile in the rest of the house a "find secret doors spell is used" which points to two locations.  1 - a cabinet in the front of the basement.  2 - a seceret door in the floor of that first room, which we missed the first time.
We opened the secret door to find a scroll case that matched our description.  We didn't touch it until we were ready to leave.  We open the cabinet in the basement and we find a collection of what we think is Tinkocracy military uniforms, and a hidden box of thikocracy military awards / medals.
Gnever ever heads back downstairs so we move.  We leave the basement stuff untouched while we use a mage hand to lift the scoll out.  We close all the doors and leave.  Esme jumps from the broken window and Istivan uses his Acrobatics stuff to slide down the wall parcour style and we exit.

Now we are sitting around panicked because we want to open the case and copy the plans, but we are worried someone will come and get us if we do.  So we just messaged Gneon and told him there is now a holding fee to keep this thing while he takes his good old time getting here in 6 days!

Currently, we are tempted to open it in a lead lined room, in an extra dimensional space.  Or not.  Also, with the discovery of the old military stuff from the tinkOcracy we think he might be the original guy (forgetting his name)

Tragorum can make the extra-dimensional space and line the entire thing with 5 ft of ebonwood. Most magical and psionic scrying is blocked by the extra-dimensional space. The "wood lining" would just be an extra precaution

We are not opening an item of unknown function in an extra dimensional space.

He was a tinker, the scroll case doesn't radiant magic.  So.. it should be safe.

Gnickel comments: "Lead blocks detection, so even if the case contained a Relic of Arsenal we would not be able to tell. It would be a poor decision to open it in an extra dimensional space."
