You already cut off one of them.

I'm pretty sure I only sawed into it a little bit to get him to talk, I don't think I fully removed it.

Can I cut his ears off now?

Thoroughly intimidated and in the zone of truth, he answers; "Skaeshin is nearby, but he doesn't have a camp I know of.  I don't know his plans."

"We were to guard the lake because it is important to the city."

"There are thousands from the nearby cities, you would be wise to stop your war."

"Zat, I don't know that name."

Guard the lake from what?  When you guard something there is usually some kind of expectation as to what you are guarding something from.

It came from the river not many days ago.

Do you know what came first, the halflings or the live water?  What was this lake before the live water came?  What changed about the lake to make the halflings guard it?

Maybe we should follow up the river and see if we find anything weird

Fey pee in lake.  Live water clean lake.  Fey not here now.

How long has the "Live Water" been there.  Who put it there?

You find a Cheekhair Painted Turtle (so named for the coloring on its underbelly that resembles a male halfling's face with mutton chops).  It is about a foot across and it eyes you lazily.

Can you please tell me what has been happening here?  What have the Fey been doing in the Lake?

I am not wearing armor, turtles seem smart.  Let's find a turtle.

I'll come out of the shapeshift.  What else might be down here that is smarter?  I can also potentially speak with plants but their limitations might make that useless.

The two leave after the sun sets on the days after the fight at the lake (which occurred before sunrise that morning).

With all of your spells active, and all of their talents, they make it to the edge of the clearing which surrounds the lake with no problem.

With Kellen watching, Ash makes his way to the lake.  There are no guards around the lake.  Off to the side, you see a new structure.  Quickly constructed, it appears to be a memorial to halfing warriors.

Once in the lake, you swim around and find nothing out of the ordinary for what you would expect.  Fish and water.

Hmmm...

Nothing with my scent ability?

Can I use my survival ability and see if there WAS anything out of the normal here that might not be here anymore.

This might be better off as a cloak and dagger op than an assault.  It might be better if I just snuck in, got a layout and scouted and got out.  We don't want to run into you know who again.

As in, he thinks we could pull it off easily or he thinks it is a waste because there wont be anything left there

I think we need to explore the bottom of the lake ourselves, there has to be something there.  I can wild shape into a shark and scour the bottom.

At some point, the Sending gets sent.  The response via the Sending is a simple, Tali won't do that.

Ash is very mopey and keeps to himself.  At some point he emerges and asks what he can do at this point.
