A new squad member in the new year
« on: August 24, 2013, 02:38:22 PM »
Upon your return to the city castle with the men you took into custody at Padra's, Sgt. Windbourne is called into the administrative offices. He tells you to take the prisoners into interrogation rooms.

He joins you after about fifteen minutes. With him is a tall, very muscular Ice Gnome.  He has a thick, wavy head of brown hair accompanied by an equally thick and wavy brown beard.  These attributes compliment his chiseled physique, perfectly tanned skin, and gem green eyes.  He appears young by Ice Gnome standards. He is dressed in well made ring mail.

Sgt. Windbourne tells you: "This is Gneetagh Gnomally, he has been reassigned to us by the First Deputy."

A human of average height, wearing the plain clothes of a constable, with mid length well kept brown hair and fairly tanned skin extends his hand, "Good day and well met.  I'm Robert Axson."

His handshake is strong and his hands are weathered.  He looks neither young nor old, although he is wearing spectacles that make him appear educated and older.  He has no weapons or armor.

"Bryvus Elswind." Bryvus is about 6' tall, muscular, and lean. His blondish brown hair is pulled back in a short ponytail, and he has a short beard of the same color. You guess he is in his late 20's or early 30's. He wears no armor but is dressed comfortably for the weather.

Bryvus bears a couple of items that stand out. First, on his left hip is a sword that has obviously seen many years. On his right side are several small, heavily laden pouches. He wears a set of bracers each faintly inscribed with an image if an olive branch crossed with a sword. On his back is slung a small steel shield, black in color with 8 small steel swords arranged in Falan's wheel on its face; the blades appear sharp but do not project beyond the shields perimeter.

Bryvus obviously sizes you up as he smiles politely and greets you.

Since you have just returned from a standard patrol you wouldn't have your sword but for future reference.

Huh, forgot about that. Might need to rethink my choice in prestige classes. A weapon caster that can't carry around the weapon on which his spellcasting is based probably won't last very long.

. You don't have to be a constable forever. (But you could be a Knight)

"Uleric Firepeak, well met."  Standing 4'6", Uleric looks like your average Dwarf.  Well kept brown hair and beard.  As he walks towards you to shake hands, you can see a medallion around his neck that bears the holy symbol of Arsur'Anyodel.  You do not see any weapons on him, though as you shake his hand you note the presence of callouses such as an archer might have.  The only other items of note are a ring and a well made pair of boots he wears.

in the corner you see a Gree.. he's looking directly at you.. no wait.. he's staring off past you at some distant site.. weird though because you are in a room.  His .. at least you think it's a him.. his blue-grey fur bristles and his eye focus on you.. he says.. "Well met".  Your eyes contact for a second to long and for some reason you believe he's staring into your soul.  You break the eye contact uncomfortably and glance back.  He's resumed his..stare!
He's dressed in standard constable gear but has no determinable equipment or items of value on him.  His fingers clack together almost reflexively every few second and his breathing is deep and relaxed.

Over the next month you are assigned numerous patrols, almost all of which bring you to the dock ward in response to some type of conflict with mercenaries or unscrupulous ship captains who have made promises they can't keep.

You get to know Gneetaugh and deputy Millerson is transferred to another squad. Gneetaugh speaks multiple languages which has come in handy on several occasions. A few times a week after your shift ends you see Gneetaugh go to the armory and retrieve an appropriately sized Kovan great sword. He then heads off to the training room.

Barring any last minute changes we will begin on the fifth day of the second month, Smofena, of 786.

Does he have an accent that indicates where he is from?

Bryvus offers to spar with Gneetaugh.

What do we learn about his other capabilities?  Any visible arcane, divine, or psionic displays?
