As a reminder, think about what each of your character's long terms plans are.  What would the do in the next year, five years, ten years, life...

Note that you may not need this for every character, only ones you are interested in having a story for in the future.

Having notes on them ready for SNAP day may not be a bad idea.

This is for after the snap correct?

Its for whatever happens during the characters' next amount of time.  Since you don't know what the snap is or when, plan as if no snap.

So just start posting what we plan for our characters? We can start writing this before we play in July?

I wouldn't post it yet.  Write it down and have it ready.  For example: Asinjin plans on retiring to his hidden home with family.  He will contact his friends monthly but plans to not be involved in world affairs or travel widely.  He will continue to craft and take commissions when he is interested.  He foresees adventurers making arduous journeys to find him and ask for divinations after they prove to him they are deserving.

Feel free now to post what your characters were doing during the short reign of Iott (five years) and during the five year war against Iott.  Also, what there long term plans are.

Harrick feels things couldn't have done better.

While other wizards are weakend, and the world is fighting IOTT he works hard to grow the religion, using his "FULL POWER" necromancy, and targeting specifically the other powers that are trying to take undeath.

I warn high level clerics of other religions if I find a "hot bed" of undeath from one of the others. rinse repeat.

Rubius goes back to his family and retires again for a few years before deciding to get into politics.  His family and friends encourage him to run for office in Ramand's Rest.  He chooses a running mate (his newly acquired cohort) and runs for mayor.  He eventually runs for a higher position as it becomes available and uses his influence (followers) to make a better life for all those suffering from the atrocities of the Iottian war.  When the war ends, he works to create a more unified Habololy by forming a United Nations type organization that includes the entire world.  He spreads the word through his followers and eventually takes on the Lord of Words epic prestige class.

Marston and Gnigel continue to protect the Plateau and the fine citizens of Grimhold.  Once they retire, they'll work as consultants as part of Gneon's personal security agency.

Arken continues to scour the Plateauean land for technology and trinkets.  He eventually tries to move his creations into the mainstream by opening up a psionic tech shop on the surface.  He works with Gneon to establish his business and eventually creates his own personal brand of psionically infused weapons, armor, and all manner of metapsionic items.

Valizar's short term goals are simple:
1) kill The Devourer
2) kill Zat

His long term goal is even simpler, albeit much more challenging:
1) kill Stronmus

Malchia's short term goal is to finish collecting his artifact set.  He figures his partnership with The Collector will be even stronger now that he's been elevated to higher deity status.

His long term goal is to ascend to become the god of sorcery.  Sorcerous lives matter.

For now, I am going to post one of the many things that Cloud does.   Since divination magic is gone Cloud starts to promote the lost art of astrology and teaches it to all that will listen to him and see its power of prediction.

After the happenings in the Castle of the Gods, Nathan has a clear order to focus on converting the giants and spreading the faith.  With all the gold from his adventures, Nathan invests it in having evangelists and Seatenders trained. He visits with the giants on many occasions working on converting them starting with the neutral good giants first since they match his alignment.  I would imagine as more nations start to battle against Iott then Nathan advises the high cleric of Lakius that he needs to step down or severe his ties with Iott.  Depending on the decision of the high cleric this could be an epic battle since the high cleric does have the Relic of Water.

Wake takes his energy bow and fights pirates.  Hopefully, his adventures will be detailed post snap as a PC because he is one I have barely played but would like to keep around.

Keldaan continues to practice in the ways of the bladesingers and eventually will try to be the leader of the bladesingers.  He also takes joins the forces that will attack Iott.

Malek continues to build up Palumbton (hopefully with the help of Koth).  Malek offer to trainer summoners (wizards and sorc) and teacher creaturelore.  He offers this as an alternative place for people who refuse to go to Iott to be taught.  Hopefully this will help to build up Palumbton and make it an important trade route in the years to come.

Cloud also joins the war against Iott.

Rathos stays with Gneon and will also be happy to join the war against Iott.  Other then that he lives a relaxing life on the Plateau eventually raising a family.

Solaris continues to grow the faith of Hemator in Pacyr with his hundreds of followers.  He will also join in fighting Iott.

Spaz continues to oppose Greenfellow and will aid in the war against Iott if needed.  Hopefully he will continue to show up Post Snap as a PC like he has since 2nd edition.

Wignston continues to search for knowledge around the world and hopefully continuing his adventuring as a PC post snap.

Brack will join in the fight against Iott and then continues to be heavily involved in the Blitzcaster guild.  Hopefully one day leading it.

Shadow will follow Haas to fight against Iott and then he will retire in lynkeed.

Wilham continues to be retired in Yellowia but would join the fight against Iott if he is called upon.

Aertums grows "Gnomes Depot: and continues to augment his body to control the disease that is destroying it.  He also works everyday to try and control the "Hand of Falan"

Chase uses his vast wealth to commission his own ship fashioned after the Guardian, with a few tweaks here and there, and takes command as Captain.  He gathers a crew and continues to sail the seas in search of fortune and fame.  If word reaches him that the magic stones have been damaged, he'll do what he can to try to fix them.

Kasai left to join Gabriel's crew and will continue to serve as Ship's Mage.  If Gabriel decides to retire, he'll join Chase's crew.

Grognoth continues to travel the world and learn as much as he can in as peaceful a manner as possible.  He will sign on with Chase and protect the ship and her crew.

Schurke continues to grow the import/export business and expands his territory to as many places as possible, all the while strengthening the guild's power and numbers.  If the Iottians become a profitable resource, he'll secretly do business with them, but if they threaten the guild or his stronghold on the import/export market, he'll quietly sabotage their trade routes.

Profit continues to grow as a prominent Arcane Crafter of The Collector.  He will continue to serve the great and powerful one as well as his high cleric.

Gneetagh continues to serve as a constable and will pursue his training as a Sword Saint.  If called to defend Icefia against the Iottians, he will take up arms and serve his nation.

Saewurg will be seen again in the exciting sequel to the Grean campaign.

Zalthor is completely displaced in this new world, although he welcomes the opportunity to cleave through Iottians if they invade his lands.

How mean years between, this is the question before I can tell ya'll what happened.

I think DM wants us to put our plans starting immediately after the magic circle events and what we want to do in the immediate decade, 1/4 century after.  He is going to use this info to tell the story and possibly determine how many years we start post-snap. What we put may or may not happen to our characters depending on how he constructs the story.

That is a correct summation.

- Luigi doesn't talk to anyone after the battle, he goes back to his tower and takes a long bath, Cooks something amazing (49 cooking check )  and naps.  He'll try to chat with melody after recharging.

- Reik - Happy to tell everyone that magic users are untrustworthy and there needs to be certain balance in the multiverse while leading the war.  Raises an army at home, and leads the charge against Iott.  Starts investigating if there is a undark path to Iott.

- Knot - goes back to hunting Fire Giants of Sutyre in Entoria. Feels that with the reduction of magic, the giants might take the opportunity to challenge Entoria.

- Tarkin - does whatever the war lord ak-rak tells him.

- Vor'Ruk - Tries to rally the empire to fight.  Doesn't have much hope.  If they won't help, he'll go off on his own trying to find somewhere to help

- Shondo - stays in communication with Luigi, waiting for a plan. Meanwhile stays in the forrest and hangs out with the Fey, protecting them as he can.

- Harrick watches the war, waiting for opportunities ( while others are distracted ) to advance Vestilion and maybe take out one of the other religions groping for the undead power.  He's happy to point out those religions to certain goodly powers. Happy to use his high level Necromantic magics. Uses magical means to watch and travel to battle sites, making sure to prevent other powers from reaping the souls/bodies of the dead to make undead for their own power. Maybe creating a few of my own, ( if Vestilion desires, i imaging he finds most unworthy).  I should be able to swell the ranks, while keeping others repressed.

Most of the dwarven wizards join Iott's efforts.

The blitzcaster seem pretty Chaotic to me and would not like the rule.  Let me know if that is an incorrect session.  If you think some of blitzcaster go against Iott then I will go with them.

I think devotion to magic would trump dislike of rule.  When it comes time to take on Iott, the side opposing them in much more loudly defeat arcane magic than stop Iott.  To fight Iott would mean to ally with Nomagrok and the tinkers.

You could make the argument that he does not take any side, but he side against Iott clearly states it wants an end to powerful arcane magic as is evident by the breaking of the Circle of Magic.

Ok he just becomes a grump old hermit that lives in city (or in the mountains if he has to) until the war is over.

Parker Berko: Parker fights against any and all forces of Iott.  He sees their attempts at world domination/control as a major obstacle to his business ventures.  The fact that they hoard any/all magical items of significant power really grates on his nerves as an entrepreneur.  Plus, they've tried to kill him on several occasions.

Adeladisa (Dissa) Pruval: TBD She continues to work against the Grean government and the forces of i don't remember....

Scratch: He continues to fight against the Unseele if he can find them, when Akrak is finally brought down, or the Gnolls are decimated by the forces of scalehome, he becomes a mercenary and travels the world.

Grant Helodan: Grant returns to the forrest, fighting the forces of Iott when they oppose the Coalition.  He will extol the virtues of Tyrogatore and the strength of his faithful.  He eventually becomes the Keeper of the Arts for his Emenote fighting style

Korda:  He fights Iott because he liks to punch things and it is now socially acceptable to punch people from Iott really hard.

Marcus Stormlight:  Marcus fights for the Iotians seeing that the 'non-powered' are seeking to destroy all powerful magics.  he completely drinks the Kool-aid, for a while.  He is pompous enough to only become involved in battles where the Iotians are clearly outmatched and with his magics, turn the tide and route the non-powered forces.  Once he realizes that Iott is more for world domination than protecting magic, he removes himself from their service and influence.  After that, he does not help Iott, but neither does he fight against them.

Owen Brisbane:  Owen spends much of the conflict scamming one side or the other.  His 'forged' magic item schemes go unnoticed for years.  He knows the Iotians are scouring every nook and cranny of Habololy for magic items and have deep pockets.  He knows the other side is desperate  for any advantage they can get against Iott.  and He knows Illusion magic hasn't been affected like most of the rest...  He eventually crosses paths with Parker and some truely legendary shenanigans ensue...

Saren Thatcher:  Saren fights against the oppression of Iott.  He protects any community that falls under Iotts ire in his travels.

Traguna and Tregorum:  The twins bide their time and use the war to increase the coffers of the guild.  They quickly become known as efficient smugglers on both sides of the conflict and earn considerable coin outside of regular guild activities.

Tolan:  Tolan stays mostly to himself after his abrupt return to the Grean republic.  He keeps as far away as he can from the major cities and military installations where he may be recognized.  He  finds works as a blacksmith and secretly continues his bladelord training.  He eventually corsses paths with the Unwanted and mentors some of their members.  Never officially joining their cause.  He defends the community he lives in if the Iotians appear, but otherwise stays out of the war if he can.

Uleric Firepeak: As a member of the constables, he defends the people and city from attack as he is ordered.

Valdis Drac'Orden:  Valdis continues to sail the seas.  Either hunting pirates or providing escort for trade ships with the crew of the Guardian or his own vessel.

I think all the owners of the Guardian should weigh in on what they want the ship to do.  Nathan plans to keep his share as an owner of the Guardian but he plans to use the crown of air to work on converting the giants to Lakius's faith.  So he will not be on the ship very much unless needed for a really important mission.  Nathan thinks the ship should continue to be used as a Corsair ship and fight against pirates.  I think Amare (sp?) should continue to be captain and have a large amount of say into what the ship does as long as it keeps on target with the ships overall purpose.  Nathan will continue to protect the ship and if anyone tries to steal it or use it for nefarious purpose then they will faith the full wraith of Nathan and the Crown of Air. Nathan's share of the spoils from the Guardian will go towards his efforts to convert the giants.
